More Snow on Fall Leaves

October 17, 2019

You may have heard about the recent snowstorm that brought accumulating snow and cold temperatures to Colorado last week.  Aspen was one of the lucky mountain towns to embrace the true first snow of the season!  With over 10 inches of snow that fell on the resorts and higher peaks of Aspen, we can celebrate that opening day for the 2019/20 ski season is less than 6 weeks away.

The resorts are grateful for the first snow and cold temperatures that allow for some snowmaking to help build a base with the natural snowfall.  More snow is predicted this weekend in the Rocky Mountains and Aspen may be on the list to receive more inches all accumulating to a nice base at the resorts.

Even with more snow on the way, we can expect the sun to make an appearance allowing for some more time to enjoy the crisp fall air in the mountains.  It is still a great time to visit to enjoy the mountain town, decadent restaurants, quaint art galleries, museums and even play outside.  It is a perfect time to take a walk in the forest to enjoy the beautiful mountain views.  Ride a bike through town on the bike path, grab a hot cup of coffee and read a local magazine at the local coffee shops, and enjoy the relaxing vibe of Aspen.
