Buttermilk Mountain Opens with a Legend

December 5, 2019

Join the local legend Klaus Obermeyer to kickoff the opening of Buttermilk Mountain on December 7th from 1 to 3 p.m.  Dress in your best retro Obermeyer gear to celebrate the start of the 2019/20 ski season!  The mountain promises fun times with good friends and incredible skiing.  During the opening day celebration, there will be a ceremonial presentation to Klaus for his commitment to the snow sports industry and his Aspen hometown community.

Aspen has seen continual snowfall over the past few weeks (and months!) with snow starting to fall since October.  Each week there has been a storm system that has swept through the central Colorado mountains providing more snow and more inches onto the Aspen mountain base.  It is starting to look and feel a lot like winter and now is the time to plan a visit to Aspen.

Several events take place throughout the winter season at the 4 mountain in Aspen.  Coming up December 13th through 15th is the Snowmassive Celebration that takes place with Passapalooza.  During this weekend, guests can enjoy great restaurant specials throughout Snowmass Village, as well as experience some of the new restaurants, shops and activities in the new Collective Snowmass space.

Recapping a previous blog that I wrote on the Collective Snowmass space, it features a new restaurant concept that has inventive cocktails, craft beers, exceptional wines and a game lounge with interactive music wall, neon foosball, table tennis, arcade games, ball pool and large-scale coloring wall.  More fun awaits in the Snowmass Village for people of all ages!  This will be a great space for everyone to enjoy.
