Aspen's Best Holiday Activities For Kids

The holidays are quickly approaching and Aspen has put on its winter coat in preparation for the December festivities. Besides skiing, there are plenty of fun activities around town for the whole family to enjoy. Children will especially love the different celebrations. Below are a few just for the kids.

Holiday Gift Making at the St. Regis Hotel—3:30 & 4:30, December 20th

In the Aspen Room, kids can make a special gift for their parents or friends ranging from a simple accessory or home decoration to a scrub or other skincare product. Reservations are $30/child and can be made online or by calling the St. Regis in advance. And remember—no grown ups allowed!

Teddy Bear Story Hour at the Wheeler/Stallard Museum—10:30, December 22nd

The Aspen Historical Society is ready to share stories from around the world in this beautiful converted West End Queen Anne home. At $3 per guest, children will love spending their morning hearing new and old holiday tales.

Santa's Winter Wonderland and Carriage Ride on the Cooper Avenue Mall—12:00-5:30, December 21st-22nd

Hosted by the Aspen Chamber Resort Association, the Cooper Avenue Mall will turn into a snowy winter wonderland complete with Santa and his reindeer. Enjoy free hot chocolate, cookies, and pictures with Saint Nick from 1:00-2:30. Then from 3:00-5:30, you can sign your family up for a special carriage ride departing from the St. Regis with Santa himself on the 21st and Mrs. Claus on the 22nd.

Palm Tree Holiday Workshop at the Aspen Art Museum—10:00, December 23rd

This is the perfect opportunity for kids to explore their creative side. In this special workshop for the entire family, children and adults  will draw inspiration from Zoe Crosher’s installation on the Roof Deck Sculpture Garden to create a “Palm Tree Holiday.” It is free to attend and cookies and hot chocolate will be provided!
